Harl McDonald (1899-1955) Bataan (1943)

Inspired by WWII, Harl McDonald composed his symphonic poem "Bataan" in 1943. It is considered by some to be his most poignant work. He later used it in 1944 by incorporating it in to his "Symphonic Suite: My Country at War." Eugene Ormandy conducts the Philadelphia Orchestra in this concert performance.
