Born in 1975, Gonzalo Garrido-Lecca has been working on a highly diversified group of works that include a short opera, music for stage settings, including theatre and modern dance, documentaries, symphonic and chamber music, as well as compositions for solo instruments. His compositions have been performed in diverse venues and radio broadcasts in the U.S., Latin America and Europe. First trained as a guitar player, he latter entered the National conservatory of Lima where he studied piano and composition. Afterwards, he moved to Spain where he attended Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, and established in this city for some years. After short residencies in Tenerife and France, in 2011, he returned to his home country, where he currently teaches Harmony and Counterpoint at Universidad Peruana de Ciencia Aplicadas and in the National Conservatory of Lima. He also appears ocassionally as pianist in duos and trios performing his own works.
