What You See vs. What You Hear: The Composition Process

Eleven young jazz composer-performers from diverse musical backgrounds worked with renowned trumpeter-composer Dave Douglas and guest artists—pianist Uri Caine and drummer Clarence Penn—on the creation, rehearsal, and production of original works involving improvisation. The workshop culminated with a Neighborhood Concert at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center on February 11, 2010 and a performance in Zankel Hall on February 12, 2010.
