Antonio Barbosa (1943 - 1993) performs Chopin's Waltzes. Recorded in 1971 on the Connisseur Society label, CS-2036.
Antonio Guerdes Barbosa (1940-1993) was a Brazilian pianist who recorded for the Centaur and Connoisseur Society labels (and under Kuarup, a small Brazilian label). He died at age 50 of a heart attack. The August 2007 issue of "Gramophone" features a list of "Music's Best-Kept Secrets" - recordings 5 of the magazine's reviewers condsider among the best ever made, but are not all that well-known. Included was Barbosa's
recording for Centaur of Chopin's Mazurkas.
