"The Cage for Parrots" is a one-act choreographic fantasy to Rodion Shchedrin's "Carmen Suite" (1967), based on the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet. Choreographer: Evgeny Panfilov. Solo dancers: Alexei Rastorguev and Alexei Kolbin.

Yevgeny Panfilov Ballet was created as a unique theatre association, which consists of three choreographic companies Yevgeny Panfilov Ballet, Yevgeny Panfilov Ballet of the Fat (1994), Yevgeny Panfilov Fight Club (2001), with different dance aesthetics united by the a single author's style. Yevgeny Panfilov became laureate of different contests and won prestigious professional awards. In 1979 he created the theatre of plastic dance "Impulse", and in 1987 he reorganized his company into the first Russian private ballet theatre Yevgeny Panfilov Ballet. In 2000 the private theatre became a state theatre and the choreographer's name was included in its official name as a sign of recognition of the merit and achievements in the field of the development of modern choreography in Russia. Among the productions of the ballet are: Eight Russian Songs, Romeo and Juliet, BlokAda, etc. Yevgeny Panfilov Ballet received the Golden Mask Award for the first time for the production of Yevgeny Panfilov Ballet of the Fat - Women. The Year 1945. In 2006 The Cage for Parrots received an award in the nomination "Contemporary Dance".
